What\’s involved?

As one of our Aquarists, you\’ll play a key role in ensuring consistently high standards of display presentation and animal husbandry. You\’ll support the running and maintenance of all off-show areas, including quarantine areas and the maintenance of the individual displays\’ life support systems. Plus, you\’ll have the chance to participate in creative conservation projects that underpin the SEA LIFE Brighton mission.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Daily operations of our displays, including the health and safety of animals
  • Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, care, and innovation
  • Collaborating on animal acquisitions, transport, and quarantines, while meeting SEA LIFE\’s ethical standards
  • Being a key player in animal husbandry and life support system maintenance
  • Developing displays and delivering engaging experiences for our guests
  • Developing your career in husbandry

Ideally, you\’ll have experience in the aquarium industry, with expertise in aquatic animal husbandry and life support systems. You may also hold a degree or equivalent in a relevant field and a PADI Rescue Diver qualification or above (desirable). A creative mindset for developing educational exhibits is also beneficial.

This is a full-time permanent role, with 40 hours per week on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays. The role may require being on-site after hours and working on a call-out rota.
