Location: Cardiff / Hybrid (2x days in the office / 3x days remote)

Salary & Package: £40,000 - £45,000 + 35 days holiday and a further strong benefits package

Sea Global are delighted to be partnering with a leading Higher Education organisation, who are currently looking to recruit a Procurement Category Manager to join their fast-paced function. The University has a number of exciting projects in the pipeline and are investing heavily into procurement.

As such, the Procurement Director is looking to appoint a Procurement professional, to manage the Estates and FM category. The function is currently well grounded within the business and has a lot of projects ready to go from day one. This role would suit someone with experience across the public sector regulations (PCR2015/PA23) and they are open to people with a range of category experience who is looking to develop and progress their procurement career.

Role & Responsibilities

  • End to end procurement, including tendering, sourcing and supplier / contract management
  • Develop existing relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across the University, including department heads
  • Lead and run tenders and other procurement specifications including Frameworks
  • Create and implement strategic category plans across the desired categories

Experience & Requirements

  • Demonstrable track record within Indirect categories would be a huge benefit, specifically Estates and Hard or Soft FM or similar
  • End to end procurement experience is essential
  • Experience within public procurement regulations (PCR, Procurement Act, OJEU, UCR etc)
  • CIPS would be beneficial but not essential
