Location: Derby (2 days in the office / 3 days from home)

Sea Global are proud to be working in partnership with a leading organisation at the forefront of the UK Rail sector. They are seeking an IT Category Manager to join their procurement team on a short term contract, with the potential to extend.

This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the IT procurement category during a busy period. The main focus of the role will be running competitions for projects and delivering key contracts or regulated extensions/tenders/framework agreement call-offs.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate support across a number of IT projects across the Procurement team.
  • Run end-to-end tendering processes, from supplier identification to contract award and implementation.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage supplier agreements, contract reviews, issue resilution, and general ad hoc support.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing best practice guidance and knowledge of Procurement Act 2023 regulations.

Experience & Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT procurement and category management across multiple spend areas (Hardware, Software, Telecommunications, Digital, Hosting, Networking, and IT Services)
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement regulations (Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 or Procurement Act 2023)
  • Experience within end-to-end procurement, tendering, or category management
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills
