Sea Global are proud to be working in partnership with a leading organisation at the forefront of the UK Transport sector. With ambitious delivery plans to enhance the railway and improve customer experience they are seeking an Interim IT Category Manager to join their procurement team and drive value across IT spend, while ensuring best practice governance and compliance.
Reporting into the Senior Category Manager (IT), this role will play a pivotal part in supporting the IT procurement category. This could include projects across Hardware, Software, Telecommunications, Digital, Hosting, Networking, and IT Services.
This is a rare opportunity to make an impact with a major transport organisation delivering exciting projects. The role is initially going to be for a 3-month period on a day rate.

Role & Responsibilities
- Provide immediate support across a number of IT projects across the Procurement team.
- Run end-to-end tendering processes, from supplier identification to contract award and implementation.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage supplier agreements, contract reviews, issue resilution, and general ad hoc support.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing best practice guidance and knowledge of Procurement Act 2023 regulations.
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience in IT procurement and category management across multiple spend areas (Hardware, Software, Telecommunications, Digital, Hosting, Networking, and IT Services)
- Familiarity with public sector procurement regulations (Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 or Procurement Act 2023)
- Experience within end-to-end procurement, tendering, or category management
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills
