Overview

Our Station teams are made up of a variety of roles, including positions on our platforms and gatelines, in ticket offices, and general support across stations. On high-speed services we have Passenger Hosts. Depending on your role, you may spend your time on tasks such as dispatching trains, inspecting tickets, assisting passengers through gatelines, cleaning and tidying stations, answering questions, dealing with lost property, selling tickets, and conducting safety and security checks.

Responsibilities

  • making sure trains are dispatched safely and on time from our platforms
  • inspecting tickets and helping passengers get through our gatelines
  • cleaning and tidying our stations
  • answering passenger questions and helping them get where they need to be
  • dealing with lost property
  • selling tickets and promoting activities on our railway
  • conducting regular safety and security checks

Training and requirements

Training Full training will be provided in this role, but the training is full-time Monday-Friday and all candidates are required to attend and pass this training for the role. You don\\\’t need railway experience to do this role. We\\\’re looking for people from all backgrounds to join our team. All you need is:

  • a passion for making every passenger journey the best it can be
  • excellent people and communication skills
  • some customer service experience
  • a proactive and positive attitude
  • the ability to work well in a team
  • the ability to handle challenging situations well

Benefits and salary

Salary £24,151 rising to £26,456 pro rata per annum, plus regional allowance of £3,334 rising to £4,271 (dependent on location) pro rata per annum and free travel on South Eastern services.
