Apprentice Installation and Maintenance Engineer

As an apprentice you will work alongside experienced engineers to gain both practical and technical smoke ventilation industry skills in order to become a fully qualified electrical engineer. You will assist in the installation of all relevant components on sites including actuators, controls, switches and sensors.

Other Requirements

Candidates will need a UK driving licence or have their driving test organised prior to starting work.

What you’ll do at work

  • Arrange times and locations to be picked up for site visits.
  • Liaise with mentor and office colleagues regarding job packs.
  • Assist qualified engineers on daily tasks.
  • Load materials and equipment required for on site jobs.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with company and industry standards.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • You will be required to work at height where necessary.
  • Accurately and responsibly install SE Controls systems, always maintaining quality and ensuring accurate completion of paperwork.
  • Systematic fault finding, diagnosis and rectification on mechanical and electrical components and systems.
  • Commission SE Controls systems onto sites, taking responsibility for accuracy and quality of installed work.
  • Always promote and comply with safe working practices, following Company procedures and the safe keeping of Company equipment (PPE, Company vehicle and mobile phone).
  • Project planning and decision making both individually and as part of a team to ensure optimum installation of the SE Controls system.
