We're looking for a Terminal Operations Supervisor to join a busy port operation, leading terminal teams to ensure cargo is handled safely, efficiently and in line with customer expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading from the front, motivating teams and making a real impact on daily operations.

Please note: This role is Monday to Friday, 13:30 - 22:00 , making it ideal for someone seeking a consistent afternoon and evening shift pattern.

The Role Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of terminal operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

You'll be responsible for coordinating teams, monitoring operational performance, maintaining compliance and helping drive continuous improvement across the terminal.

Key Responsibilities Supervise daily terminal operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and on time.

Lead and motivate terminal operatives and agency workers, allocating workloads and monitoring performance.

Ensure all safety briefings, equipment checks and PPE requirements are completed before each shift.

Support the delivery of customer service standards, SLAs and operational KPIs.

Monitor labour and equipment utilisation to maximise efficiency.

Complete a range of operational administration, including attendance monitoring, invoice processing and employee records.

Assist with onboarding, coaching and developing new team members.

Conduct return-to-work interviews and support performance management processes.

Investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring timely reporting and appropriate follow-up actions.

Promote continuous improvement in operational processes, quality and safety.

Deputise for the Operations Manager when required.

Work collaboratively with other supervisors and departments to support the wider operation.

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who can confidently lead teams in a busy operational environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and customer service.

You'll ideally have: Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.

Experience within terminal, port or operational environments is advantageous.

Strong organisational and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Good IT skills.

The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage changing priorities.

A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach.

Experience working with operational procedures, safe systems of work and quality standards.

A full UK driving licence.
