Job Description
This role is with a with a large, expanding specialist shipping business based near Southampton If successful in this role you will be responsible for managing the company's container fleet to maximise profitability while minimising avoidable costs. This involves precise planning and proactive engagement with key stakeholders to ensure efficient container utilisation. The role requires strong leadership to guide the Container Team in optimising container turnaround and addressing supply chain bottlenecks. Key responsibilities include fleet management, overseeing leasing and purchasing agreements and ensuring containers are fit for commercial demand. The role also involves coordinating container flows, tracking and forecasting supply, and driving productivity improvements. You will also work closely with internal & external IT experts, developing new systems and processes for the department, as the global fleet grows. The ideal candidate is highly organised, proactive & process driven with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
