Role
We are looking for personal assistant to help a 60 year old male who is a wheelchair user, has CPD and can weight bare for transfers. He requires assistance to shower or basin wash in the morning and then to change into his nightwear in the evening. Making sure he has breakfast and is organised for the day would be beneficial also. On occasion he may not be able to wash due to his low energy levels so building a good relationship with him is key to be able to gauge is ability. The gentleman can weight bare for transfers so only needs some assistance but also has severe COPD therefore has oxygen tanks in his home. Family will provide an induction on what to look out for and how to assist.
We would ask that you write a small paragraph about yourself which will allow the family to gain a better idea of why you would like to have this post. Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Having experience within this area would be of benefit.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
