Hours: Saturdays 11am - 5pm (Additional hours may be available to cover other staff illness/holidays)

Personal Assistant required to join my team to help me live my life the way I choose, allowing me to lead my life independently. I receive Direct Payments from Stirling Council so that I can employ Personal Assistants to support me to live my life in the way I want. You will enable me to do this by listening to my requirements and being able to implement these as required. It is therefore vital that you have good communication skills.
Like most people, my day varies so you will be required to carry out a variety of tasks commensurate with the role of a Personal Assistant. Sometimes I require support to attend disability cycling and sailing – both these activities are run by trained volunteers; you will be required to attend and provide some support. Knowledge of these sports is not essential.
Personal Qualities
You will be working as part of a small team to provide care & support. Most of the time you will be working alone with me. This means you must be self-motivated and willing to recognise the support I indicate I am requiring at that moment. You will be honest, reliable and trustworthy with good time management and communication skills - be willing to follow instructions and provide support the way I require. You should be able to perform tasks that involve lifting and bending.
Tasks will include:
- Prompting supported person to take medication
- Assisting supported person to attend social events (i.e Disability Cycling and Sailing)
- Assisting supported person to go for meals/coffee
- Assisting supported person with meeting friends
- Assisting supported person to attend appointments
- Assisting supported person with upkeep of their wheelchair
- Any other duties commensurate with the role of Care Worker / Personal Assistant
Full clean UK Driving Licence is essential as you will be required to drive my motability car. Two references from current or previous employer are essential. Applicants must have membership of Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) or be willing to join this scheme.
