Salary: £13.45 per hour

Hours: 22 hours per week, split into two part-time roles.

Shift pattern: 08:00 - 13:30, Thursday - Sunday

About The Role

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly, supportive team at St George’s Lodge. You do not need previous experience in a care home kitchen — your enthusiasm, reliability, and passion for preparing nutritious, wholesome meals for older residents matter most.

You will play an important role in supporting resident wellbeing, maintaining high kitchen standards, and ensuring meals are prepared safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic food preparation and meal service
  • Support residents’ special dietary needs, including modified meals
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness
  • Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment
  • Help receive and store deliveries
  • Follow food safety, health & safety, and infection control procedures
  • Work positively as part of a friendly, caring team
