We are recruiting a Senior Care Assistant (Medication Trained) to join our night team at Downs House Residential Care Home in Petersfield, Hampshire. Downs House is a welcoming 46-bed residential care home located close to Petersfield town centre, providing high-quality, person-centred care for older people in a warm and supportive environment.
This is a key senior night role where you will take responsibility for delivering safe, compassionate care and supporting the team to maintain high standards throughout the night. Your Role as Senior Care Assistant (Medication Trained)
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role within the night team, ensuring residents receive safe, attentive, and person-centred care throughout the night. You will also support and guide other care staff on shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality personal care during night shifts
- Administer medication safely and accurately (essential)
- Support residents with dignity, independence, and respect
- Carry out regular welfare checks
- Monitor and report changes in resident wellbeing
- Maintain accurate care records and handovers
- Support and guide junior staff on shift
- Ensure a safe and calm overnight environment
