We are looking for a reliable and caring Domestic Assistant to join our team at Patcham Nursing Home, a warm and welcoming residential and nursing home in Brighton. This is a weekend-based role working within a supportive environment where cleanliness, comfort, and dignity are central to the care we provide. Location & Hours
- Location: Patcham Nursing Home, Brighton
- Hours: 16 hours per week (08:00 – 16:00)
- Shift Pattern: Saturday & Sunday (8 hours per day)
- Salary: £13.45 per hour (weekend rate)
About the Role
As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. While previous cleaning or domestic experience in a care home or similar setting is an advantage, it is not essential. Full training will be provided. What matters most is a positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning duties throughout the home
- Maintain high standards of hygiene in resident rooms and communal areas
- Undertake deep cleaning tasks as required
- Follow infection control, health & safety, and cleaning procedures
- Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and correctly
- Support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff
- Work as part of a supportive and friendly team
Who We’re Looking For
- Reliable, hardworking, and punctual
- Caring and respectful towards older people
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Attentive to detail and takes pride in their work
- Calm, kind, and professional in their approach
Experience in domestic cleaning, housekeeping, hospitality, or care home environments is beneficial but not essential.
