About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Cook at Patcham Nursing Home. This Cook role is perfect for someone who enjoys preparing nutritious, home-style meals and wants to make a meaningful difference. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of our residents through food - preparing meals with care, creativity, and attention to dietary needs. This Cook position also involves catering for colleagues and contributing to a positive, homely dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast, including items such as bacon, eggs, and sausages
- Cook lunch as the main meal of the day, offering two options plus puddings
- Prepare supper, such as sandwiches, soups, and jacket potatoes
- Bake cakes for birthdays and special events
- Ensure all meals meet the nutritional requirements of our residents
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety at all times
- Work independently and collaboratively within the care team
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Cook, ideally in healthcare, nursing homes, or a similar environment
- Knowledge of elderly nutrition and special diets
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Compassionate attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to resident wellbeing
