We are recruiting compassionate, dedicated Health Care Assistants and an experienced Senior Night Health Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Patcham Nursing Home. Patcham Nursing Home is a welcoming 30-bed residential and nursing home in Brighton, providing high-quality, person-centred care in a calm and supportive environment. Each resident has a private en-suite room, supporting dignity, comfort, and independence.

  • Health Care Assistant – Days/Nights
  • Senior Health Care Assistant – Nights

Flexible full-time, part-time, and bank hours available. £13.70 per hour + weekend enhancements for Health Care Assistant. Permanent 36-hour night contract £14.20 per hour + weekend enhancements for Senior Health Care Assistant.

About the Roles

As part of our care team, you will support residents with their daily needs while promoting dignity, independence, comfort, and wellbeing at all times. Our Senior Night HCA role also includes supporting the wider care team overnight, assisting with leadership responsibilities, and working closely with nurses to ensure high standards of care are maintained throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and daily support to residents
  • Support residents living with dementia, nursing needs, and palliative care needs
  • Assist with mobility, nutrition, comfort, and wellbeing
  • Carry out welfare checks and respond to residents’ needs
  • Monitor and report changes in health or behaviour
  • Maintain accurate care records and handovers
  • Work closely with nurses and the wider care team
  • Promote a calm, safe, and caring environment
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Night HCA
  • Support and guide care staff during night shifts
  • Assist with shift organisation and delegation
  • Ensure smooth overnight running of the home

  • Experience in care is desirable but not essential for HCA roles
  • Previous senior care experience preferred for Senior Night HCA role
