Procurement Project Manager required by global engineering company for an initial 12-month contract. The Procurement Project Manager is to set the framework of the relationships between each project core-team and external suppliers (around suppliers scouting, selection, and contracts) and to monitor that suppliers related tasks and risks are controlled and mitigated within the scope of the project.
The Procurement Team mission is to support the clients finished products business strategy by developing and managing upstream business relationships with a reliable base of preferred external suppliers that enhances the company’s competitiveness and customers satisfaction. The team is focused on direct product-related parts (raw materials, components, sub-assemblies) and direct product-related services (sterilization…).
MAIN TASKS / TECHNICAL NATURE OF JOB
- Ownership of each procurement work package for each project.
- Procurement Category Manager for small projects with mono-category topics.
- Project Manager when global coordination is needed for complex projects with multi-category topics.
- Preparation and implementation of the RFQ process and commissioning of suitable services (mech. machining, assembly, engineering).
- Management of RFI, RFP, RFQ processes with a focus on optimal BOM costs with high material quality and availability.
- Preparation of NDAs and development contracts to component cost assumptions and identify cost reduction opportunities within the scope of the project.
- Ensure project strategy and category strategy are understood on both sides and aligned.
- Support supplier scouting, selection, and contracting according to project specifications.
- Monitor that component related costs are under control during all the project timeline.
- Drive Procurement activities in direct contact with suppliers during the project timeline for new external produced components.
- Initiate and monitor PPAP processes for the qualification of new components or manufacturing processes.
- Support ordering process for project relevant components, assemblies and services.

- External stakeholders: Suppliers.
AUTONOMY / RESPONSIBILITY
For assigned projects, from project birth and until start of regular production, the Procurement Project Manager is accountable for Strategic Procurement related deliverables.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Professional experience in the field of industrial/mechanical engineering or business administration.
- Relevant professional experience in Supplier Relationship Management in a global industrial business environment.
- Solid track record in achieving sustainable value creation through successful supplier management.
- Strong leadership personality, strong communication skills.
- Excellent use of MS Office; experience with SAP is a plus.
- Excellent command of English; French or German are a plus.
