Our client is seeking a Commissioning Engineer for an initial 12-month contract to be based onsite in the Hertfordshire / Cambridge borders. As the Commissioning Engineer you will possess considerable knowledge of working in a technical environment within a high-tech engineering/manufacturing company.

Requirements

  • Educated to HND level in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • Extensive understanding of mechanical / electrical / electronic build and assembly
  • Proven experience of commissioning products within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and understand both electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings
  • Familiar with full range of mechanical engineering materials, finishes and tolerances
  • Electrical experience of wiring, fault finding, electrical testing practices
  • Flexible to travelling overseas as and when required

Responsibilities

  • Working hands on to test, document and commission products using defined processes
  • Liaising with build, commissioning and manufacturing engineers, the purchasing team, and other internal functions, as required, to maintain and improve the output of the manufacturing products
  • Negotiate, schedule and communicate the manufacturing priorities within the team
  • Ensure that production documentation and instructions are correctly recorded and kept up-to-date
  • Sharing responsibility for implementing continuous improvements in the product
  • Involved in the implementation of lean manufacturing philosophies
