We’re looking for a hands-on Commissioning Engineer to support the testing and commissioning of modular systems within a high-tech manufacturing environment. This is a practical, shop-floor-based role ideal for a technician or junior engineer with strong fault-finding skills and a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the commissioning and testing of completed sub-assemblies, ensuring systems are fully functional and meet quality standards before final sign-off.
Day-to-day duties include:
- Testing electrical, electronic, and mechanical components of assembled systems
- Carrying out fault finding and diagnostics
- Completing electrical safety testing and validation checks
- Following work instructions and acceptance test procedures
- Recording results, serial numbers, and test documentation online
- Ensuring calibrated equipment is used and maintained correctly
- Supporting packing and release of units following quality control
- Keeping accurate records (e.g. timesheets, documentation)
- Working to production timelines and quality expectations
Requirements
- HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in commissioning or testing low voltage equipment
- Background in manufacturing or a regulated environment (desirable)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Comfortable using Excel and Microsoft Office
- High attention to detail with a strong quality mindset
