We’re looking for a hands-on Commissioning Engineer to support the testing and commissioning of modular systems within a high-tech manufacturing environment. This is a practical, shop-floor-based role ideal for a technician or junior engineer with strong fault-finding skills and a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the commissioning and testing of completed sub-assemblies, ensuring systems are fully functional and meet quality standards before final sign-off.

Day-to-day duties include:

  • Testing electrical, electronic, and mechanical components of assembled systems
  • Carrying out fault finding and diagnostics
  • Completing electrical safety testing and validation checks
  • Following work instructions and acceptance test procedures
  • Recording results, serial numbers, and test documentation online
  • Ensuring calibrated equipment is used and maintained correctly
  • Supporting packing and release of units following quality control
  • Keeping accurate records (e.g. timesheets, documentation)
  • Working to production timelines and quality expectations

Requirements

  • HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in commissioning or testing low voltage equipment
  • Background in manufacturing or a regulated environment (desirable)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Comfortable using Excel and Microsoft Office
  • High attention to detail with a strong quality mindset
