Buyer β (Procurement / Sourcing Specialist) required by a global technology company for an initial 12-month contract. This role involves managing procurement and supplier relationships while ensuring alignment with project objectives. The ideal candidate will have commercial experience in industrial or mechanical engineering, a background in procurement with excellent communication skills.
Overview
Responsible for sourcing and selecting suppliers for new product introduction (I2P) projects and future series production. Working closely with Product Development, Supply Chain, Quality, and Category Management to secure cost-effective, high-quality, and reliable supply solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes for machining, assembly, and engineering services
- Select and onboard suppliers in line with project, quality, and supply chain requirements
- Develop and manage the project sourcing plan from concept through to series production
- Drive supplier scouting, evaluation, and contracting
- Contribute to Make-or-Buy decisions and align with category strategy
- Coordinate NDAs and development contracts
- Support PPAP and supplier qualification activities
- Manage ordering and sampling of project-related components and services
Experience Required
- Background in project procurement, sourcing, or category management in a manufacturing/engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of RFx processes, BOM cost control, and TCO
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in NPI/I2P projects
- Understanding of PPAP and supplier qualification processes
