  • Location: Armagh
    Hours: 32-38 hours per week (with flexible working options)

At SDG, we're looking for an organised and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our growing team in Armagh.

This is a varied role that combines day-to-day finance responsibilities with involvement in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the finance function, working closely with our Sales, Purchasing and Warehouse teams to ensure accurate financial records, efficient processes and excellent service to both customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage sales and purchase ledger activities, including generating invoices, sourcing delivery notes and obtaining trade references.
  • Process supplier invoices and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing, Sales and Warehouse teams to resolve any order, delivery or invoice discrepancies.
  • Reconcile Proofs of Delivery (PODs) and follow up on outstanding supplier invoices.
  • Post and reconcile company credit card transactions.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and account reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting processes.
  • Assist the Management Accountant with management accounts, budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Post journals and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Support profitability analysis and financial reporting.
  • Manage finance inboxes and respond to account-related queries.

About You

Essential

  • Previous experience in an accounts or finance role.
  • Strong understanding of sales and purchase ledger processes.
  • Good Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Desirable

  • AAT qualified with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Experience supporting management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
