Our Engineering Apprenticeship Programme, delivered through the SDC Academy, offers a structured and immersive pathway into a successful engineering career. Over a period of 24 years, you will gain hands-on experience, expert mentorship, and industry-recognised knowledge, equipping you with the practical skills and professional confidence needed to excel in a dynamic engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Essential
    • Have applied to a college for the Engineering apprenticeship for the September 2026 intake.
    • GCSE English & Maths at grade C or above (or working towards).
    • Have a good electrical/mechanical aptitude demonstrated through school activities, hobbies and interests.
    • A good work ethic with an interest and passion in your chosen area.
    • Solutions focused and a desire to learn.
    • Self-motivated.
    • Good organisational and time management skills.
    • Awareness of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Desirable
    • A team player with the ability to work independently.
    • Health and safety awareness.

Hours of work

07.00 to 16.00 Mon-Thurs
07.00 to 13.00 Fri
40 Hours per week. This is the normal hours of work. You will be in college on your required days throughout your apprenticeship.
