SDC is recruiting for an Assistant Services Project Manager / Engineer to join our in-house Mechanical & Electrical team working on projects across our operating region (Bedford, Cambridge, Oxford and surrounding areas). Initially, you will be part of the Special Projects team, working across multiple new-build and refurbishment projects up to Β£5m. The successful candidate will be either mechanically or electrically biased and will be supervising the specialist M&E sub-contractors. You will also progress M&E design queries whilst supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of the schemes. The M&E Team plays an integral part in underpinning the success of a diverse range of projects, including pharmaceutical, commercial, automotive, and health.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the co-ordination of M&E Design, liaising with external consultants.
- Supervise specialist M&E sub-contractors through effective communication and proactive involvement in the day-to-day running of the site.
- Implement the highest standards of safety, quality, compliance, and communication from the outset.
- Attend programme meetings to ensure the best build programme is maintained.
- Work alongside the Services Project Manager, using your knowledge of building control to ensure all systems meet the requirements for handover.
- Regularly liaise with Clients' Consultants throughout the construction and commissioning phases of the Project.
- Ensure all systems are demonstrated accordingly.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration.
- Provide technical support to the project team and specialists.
Requirements:
- An HND or similar in an M&E related discipline.
- Proven experience of delivering mechanical or electrical packages on new-build projects.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Share the company ethics of collaboration, problem-solving, and teamwork.
