Cuddles and Care Day Nursery Chard is part of a growing nursery chain called S&D Childcare Limited and is one of six nurseries within Somerset. Our nursery caters for children between 3 months and 5 years. Early Years Practitioners are responsible for supporting the development and well-being of young children, from 3 months to 5 years old at Cuddles and Care Day Nurseries, Little Starlings and Yeovilteenies Day Nursery. They play a crucial role in helping children meet developmental milestones through engaging, safe, and age-appropriate activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Level 2/3 CACHE Childcare or equivalent
- Experience with children in a childcare or nursery setting
- Background in early childhood education
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children and parents
- Valid driver's license for potential driving responsibilities is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willing to undergo further training
- Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
Summary:
- Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- Observe and assess individual children to track their progress
- Maintain records of children's achievements and areas of development using an online system
- Build positive relationships with children and their families, fostering trust and open communication
- Liaise with parents/carers to provide feedback on children’s development, progress, and daily activities
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of the children at all times
- Follow health and safety protocols, including hygiene standards, first aid, and emergency procedures
- Support children during daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting, napping, and outdoor play
- Work effectively as part of a team, attending staff meetings and contributing to the development of the setting
Statutory holiday leave plus an extra week after 2 years; Christmas off, never work Christmas again. Monday to Friday all year round, 40 hours per week.
