An exciting opportunity for a hands-on, proactive Project Manager ideally with a background in science or experience within the CRO or wider life sciences sector. You’ll be responsible for managing multiple client projects, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction by managing resourcing, timeframes and delivery to the high standards our clients expect. You’ll be the key interface between clients and internal technical teams—ensuring delivery plans are realistic, progress is tracked, risks are identified, issues are resolved promptly, and communication is clear throughout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and end to end execution of client projects across multiple scientific areas.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication, managing expectations and co-ordinating and chairing regular project meetings.
- Manage and proactivly update the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) system to ensure accurate scheduling and milestone delivery.
- Support the Finance team with reliability of business-critical financial milestones and revenue forecasting
- Support the Business Development team with creation of essential client documents, identifying opportunity with existing clients and communicating any project challenges.
- Work closely with Study Directors, Analytical Chemists, and Senior Management to ensure technical deliverables are met and clients are kept informed.
- Monitor project progress; proactively identify risks and issues, and take ownership of mitigation strategies
- Ensure project documentation /reports are accurate, up to date and issued in a timely fashion.
- Exceptional attention to detail – you spot inconsistencies before they become issues
- Highly organised – capable of managing multiple projects and juggling many priorities at the same time
- Proactive and solutions-focused – you take initiative and stay ahead of problems
- Excellent communication skills – able to liaise confidently with clients and team members alike
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, small-team environment where adaptability / flexibility is key.
- 2+ year project management experience
- Extensive experience liaising with external clients and internal technical teams
- Ideally a science-based degree (e.g., biology, chemistry, pharmacology, environmental science) or equivalent experience
- Strong business acumen in project planning and management
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
