Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. Weprovide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, campaign for the rights ofpeople affected by dementia and fund vital dementia research.**What you’ll do**This is an exciting leadership role with a clear purpose: to grow, develop and improve Alzheimer Scotland’s communityfundraising and events activity across Scotland. You will play a key role in delivering the Fundraising &Engagement strategy by supporting more individuals, groups, volunteers, local organisations, colleagues andcommunities to fundraise effectively for Alzheimer Scotland.As Community and Events Lead, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Alzheimer Scotland’scommunity fundraising and events channels. You will translate organisational and Fundraising & Engagementobjectives into clear plans, budgets, KPIs, workplans and delivery priorities, ensuring community fundraisingand events activity is well planned, well supported and focused on meaningful results.You will lead and develop a high-performing team, line managing two Events Officers and a Community Officer. You willensure community fundraising, third-party events, and Alzheimer Scotland-led events are delivered safely,efficiently and in line with agreed objectives.You will lead and grow community fundraising activity by individuals, groups, clubs, small businesses and communityorganisations. A key part of the role will be helping others to fundraise well: providing the tools,encouragement, expertise, stewardship and follow-up that enable supporters, volunteers, local teams andcommunity groups to turn ideas and goodwill into successful fundraising activity.You will lead the community and events aspects of national fundraising and engagement programmes, including MemoryWalk, Tea & Blether and future initiatives. You will help increase community engagement, awareness andparticipation, while ensuring activity is delivered safely, consistently and with excellent supporter andvolunteer stewardship.Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising & Engagement, Communications and operational teams, you willsupport appropriate communications and promotional activity for Community & Events work, strengthensupporter journeys and help local service delivery teams identify and develop community fundraisingopportunities in their areas.You will oversee third-party events and associated supplier relationships, ensuring challenge events and externallyorganised opportunities are delivered safely, profitably and with excellent supporter stewardship. You willmanage income and expenditure budgets, monitor performance and use data, insight and post-activity evaluation toimprove effectiveness, supporter experience and return on investment.This role combines strategic thinking with practical delivery.**What you’ll have**You will bring experience in one or more relevant fundraising channels, such as community fundraising, supporter-ledfundraising, events or participation-based activity. More importantly, you will be able to demonstrate that youhave led people or teams to deliver fundraising activity effectively, bringing sound judgement, a strongunderstanding of how fundraising works, and the knowledge of regulation, compliance and good practice needed toshape activity that is safe, appropriate and likely to succeed.You will have experience of planning, delivering and evaluating community fundraising activity, events, campaigns orprogrammes, and be able to show how you have improved activity, strengthened participation and deliveredmeasurable outcomes.You will have demonstratable experience of enabling others to fundraise successfully, not just delivering activityyourself. You will be able to show how you have managed supporters, volunteers, colleagues, groups or localorganisations to take ownership of fundraising activity, providing the guidance, resources, encouragement andfollow-up needed to help them achieve good results.You will be a strategic thinker who can turn organisational priorities into clear plans and practical actions. Youwill be confident leading teams, managing multiple workstreams and building productive relationships withcolleagues, supporters, volunteers, suppliers, community groups and external partners.You will have strong planning, analytical and commercial skills, with experience of working to budgets, targets, KPIsand delivery plans. You will be confident using data, insight and evaluation to improve activity, supporterengagement, volunteer participation and return on investment.You will understand the importance of delivering fundraising activity safely and compliantly, with appropriateattention to fundraising regulation, relevant law, health and safety, data protection, financial controls, riskmanagement and Alzheimer Scotland policies.Most importantly, you will be motivated by helping people and communities support Alzheimer Scotland.
