An Assistant Station Manager at Scudamore’s works to ensure the successful day-to-day oversight and delivery of our customer facing operations. You will achieve this through effective coaching and performance management, upholding operational standards and optimising the use of resources to meet departmental goals. An essential component of your remit will be to drive exceptional standards of safety, customer service and presentation as a key part of delivering our visitor experience aims.
You will help take our business forward by:
- Driving sales and managing our daily operations.
- Managing, motivating and developing our team of cashiers and river tour guides.
- Ensuring an exceptional visitor experience.
- Delivering on performance targets.
- Working in line with operational budgets.
- Efficient and timely resource management.
You will also have the opportunity to regularly interact and engage with senior management where your input will help inform strategic planning for the business.
What’s the package?
- Remuneration of up to £41,203 per annum (£34,453.13 salary + up to £6,750 bonus) inclusive of performance bonuses based upon individual and Company performance.
- Full-time role, working five days out of seven including weekends and public holidays. Shift patterns are seasonally flexible.
- 28 days holiday per year.
- 2-year fixed term in the first instance, with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement.

Special demands of the role
The nature of our business requires our staff to be comfortable working on and around water. This role is physically demanding and often requires you to remain on your feet throughout the working day, which requires an appropriate level of fitness. The Company is scheduled to open 364 days per year and our staffing needs are usually greatest at weekends and holiday periods. This role therefore requires flexibility with regards to work hours and availability to work most weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
