The objective of this role is to validate the Test coverage and Testing evidence that the upgrades made to DB2, IMS, MQ Subsystems do not impact the application functionality. In addition to the above, the role requires identifying the application regression test cases associated with the below subsystems, hence a deep understanding of the Mainframe systems i.e. DB2, IMS, MQ, COBOL, JCL are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end testing efforts for mainframe applications and APIs.
  • Design and implement testing approach, Test plan, and Review Test cases for mainframe systems involving IMS and MQ.
  • Collaborate with development, business, and QA teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Perform integration testing involving APIs, IMS transactions, and MQ messaging.
  • Automate test cases where applicable and manage test data.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or HP ALM.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in mainframe testing (COBOL, JCL, DB2).
  • Hands-on experience with IMS / CICS and IBM MQ.
  • Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or ReadyAPI.
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g. JIRA, Xray).
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
