Skillset Temporary Works Management / TWC – experience as a TWC on shaft sinking operations, including deep shafts in large-scale civil engineering projects. Strong interpersonal, organisational and team working skills; clear and effective communication. Ability to influence safe design execution, early risk management, safe shaft excavation and lining operations. Understanding of geological and hydrogeological conditions, groundwater control, ground support systems and permanent works interfaces. Knowledge of BS:5975, PAS 8811 and PAS 8812.

Role Overview: The Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) for Shafts will manage a team of TWSs and construction supervisors. Responsibilities include ensuring all temporary works in the Shaft and Headhouses DU (part of the MWCC S1/S2 project) are designed, constructed, implemented and removed safely in accordance with Project Procedures.
- Develop construction methodologies, sequencing and scoping of temporary works to facilitate safe and efficient shaft excavation and lining.
- Identify and address issues at preliminary design stages to ensure constructability, reduce risk and create efficiencies.
- Influence the execution of designs that are safe to construct.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with project team.
- Manage the Temporary Works team.
Qualifications: Extensive track record as a TWC on large-scale civil engineering projects. Strong interpersonal, organisational and team working skills. Excellent communication. Working knowledge of BS:5975, PAS 8811 and PAS 8812. Understanding of geological and hydrogeological conditions relevant to shaft sinking.
Reporting: Reports to the Temporary Works Manager or Senior TWC in the DU.
