Overview
Working as part of the Business Compliance and Audit Team, the Supply Chain Auditor will plan and conduct audits on the supply chain to provide assurance of compliance to all relevant requirements including Subcontract Works Information (SWIs).
The role involves audits both on and off‑site.
The auditor will work closely with the Supply Chain Quality and Procurement teams to measure and report on Supply Chain Performance, support the development of assurance procedures, and assist in continuous improvement across the project.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and conduct supply chain audits at facilities or project sites as per the audit programme.
- Support the Head of Business Compliance and Audit in developing the Audit Programme and the project's management systems.
- Write management and technical reports, audit reports and records of non‑conformance; analyse and distribute audit and statistical information.
- Collaborate with Quality, HSW, Environment, Procurement and Delivery teams to identify supplier training and development needs.
- Serve as a catalyst for change, improving performance and quality across the supply chain.
- Develop and deliver Supply Chain Performance reports that provide an overview of supplier performance across a range of measures.
- Report to the Head of Business Compliance and Audit and provide detailed weekly/monthly reports on planned and recent audits, highlighting key issues.
- Maintain good relations and communication with all team members, internal and external customers, responding politely and timely.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years practical cumulative experience in internal and external audit, preferably in civil engineering or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of developing, implementing, maintaining and improving quality management systems to ISO9001.
- Knowledge of other management systems (ISO14001, ISO27001, ISO45001) is desired.
- Experience in supply chain performance management and reporting.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, with the ability to work independently and with initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a busy and demanding environment.
- Good understanding of the construction market and the HS2 project context.
