As a 4D Senior Planner, you’re responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing comprehensive 4D models throughout all project stages. The primary goal is to validate the design and construction schedule by visually demonstrating the sequence of works, proactively identifying physical and time clashes, and uncovering new opportunities. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will leverage advanced 4D planning techniques to enhance project success and foster innovation.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop 4D models and phasing plans to communicate project logistics and strategic sequences.
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of Synchro 4D models, including creation, data linking, and continuous maintenance.
- Partner with project teams to design construction methodologies prioritising safe delivery and logical sequencing.
- Creation of logistics, land use and temporary works 3D models.
- Create animations/simulations at defined stages for communicating the overall job sequence.
- Generate as-built programmes to identify and analyse deviations from established baselines.
- Produce recurring lookahead visuals to facilitate team briefings and executive reporting.
- Adding SHE data to the model to assist the H&S team.
- Provide visual validation of timelines to support internal and external project assurance reviews.
- Provide hands‑on technical support, mentoring, and targeted training to develop capability across project teams.
- Contributing to knowledge sharing and training, helping to develop project management skills and capabilities across the organisation.
The Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Architecture / Construction / Engineering or appropriate professional qualification.
- Proven experience in planning within large‑scale construction projects.
- Appreciation for critical path management and control, and background in scheduling.
- Strong hands‑on experience on Bentley’s Synchro 4D Pro platform.
- Very good proficiency and experience with model authoring tools such as Bentley’s Open Building Designer, or MicroStation.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and contributing to project delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Ability to work with Delivery Teams to develop and implement strategies and practical applications.
