Job Introduction

Overall responsibility for Requirements and V&V Management on the HS2 Main Works Civils Contracts Lots S1 and S2 for the SCS Joint Venture. Reporting to the Head of Technical Assurance

Role Responsibility

  • Leading the Requirements Management team, including briefing, training and supervising Requirements and V&V engineers.
  • Briefing and liaising with the wider project team and subcontractors on all relevant matters.
  • Ensuring the Requirements Management Approach meets with HS2 standards and the Contract Works Information requirements.
  • Development, set up and management of the Requirements Management database
  • Driving innovation in the requirements management approach.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and regular reporting on the performance of the Requirements Management and verification process.
  • Leading the integration of subcontractors, 3rd parties and other work packages into the requirements management processes, through the procurement, design, construction & handover stages.
  • Working with the wider project team to carry out Requirements Management, Requirements Allocation , and V&V planning and reporting.
  • Supporting other disciplines in their interactions with the HS2 DOORS Database, and other related requirements management tool supported activities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Appropriate professional qualification or equivalent experience in System Engineering
  • Previous experience of working on large infrastructure projects, multidisciplinary teams, in particular experience in civil engineering or rail would be an advantage
  • Experienced in the use of DOORS to manage project requirements
  • Previous experience leading a small team.
  • Experience planning team workload and managing deliverables.
  • Capable of working collaboratively and effectively with project delivery teams, management and the project leadership and credible in building relationships with all levels of stakeholders.

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
