Job Introduction
We have vacancies for Requirements Engineers to join our Technical Governance & Compliance team here at SCS Railways JV.
About the role:
Responsibility for Requirements and Verification & Validation Management on the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Reporting to the Requirements Lead. The requirements engineer works with the project engineering and design teams and other specialists to produce Verification Validation Matrices (VVM’s) to support the assurance process.
Flexible working: This role will be based in our project offices in Euston for a minimum of 3 days per week.
Main Responsibilities
- Implementing the SCS Requirements Management Plan and processes to manage, verify and validate the requirements of the Main Works Civils Contract.
- Working with design and construction teams, subcontractors and subject matter experts to allocate requirements and to determine the relevant verification and validation activities.
- Production and submission of Verification and Validation Matrices (VVMs) to support assurance activities across all project phases, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Reporting on the performance of the Requirements Management and verification process.
- Driving innovation in the requirements management approach.
- Fostering collaborative working within the Requirements Management team and the project team through database management, team integration and workflows.
The Ideal Candidate
- Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in System Engineering.
- Previous experience of working on large infrastructure projects, multidisciplinary teams, in particular experience in civil engineering or rail would be an advantage.
- Experienced in the use of DOORS to manage project requirements.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services. The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
