We are currently looking for 3no. MEP Quality Engineers to join our Completions & Transitions team here at SCS Railways.
About the role:
The MEP Asset Quality Engineer/Inspector is responsible for managing the independent site inspections and surveillances, liaising with the Client where there are hold points in the relevant ITP's, ensuring the documentation is being produced on time, Non-Conformances are raised in a timely manner, reviewing documentation and supporting the MEP Asset Delivery Manager and the Testing & Commission Manager. Providing assurance to both the SCSJV Management and the Client that the Delivery Team and the supply chain are delivering the Works in accordance with the Works Information and the design requirements. This role is essential to ensure all inspections are correctly documented & collated in preparation for the Assets transition from Delivery to Testing & Commissioning, ensuring an efficient process to handover to the Client. The role will be Asset based and the MEP Quality Engineer/Inspector will report directly to the MEP Asset Delivery Manager, progressively handing over to the Testing & Commissioning Team.
Role Responsibility
- Be proactive in preventing substandard Works being produced by coaching and providing training.
- Ensure that quality management is given the highest priority in delivery in the delivery of their works to achieve right first time.
- Communicate with delivery team and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements.
- Check the works during progress and on completion to ensure that it has been constructed in line with the Work Information.
- Communicate to the MEP Asset Delivery Manager & Asset Design Engineers any non-conformances.
- Ensure that inspection and tests are carried out in line with the inspection and test plans, Safe Systems of Work for controlling the works and that all necessary documentation is produced as prescribed by the SWI in a timely manner.
- Ensure the delivery team notifies HS2 and or the Supervisor of any intervention points.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience within MEP quality related role on a major infrastructure project.
- Ideally have an MEP trades background.
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Competent with Electronic based Snagging programmes e.g. BIM360, SnagR.
- Relevant CSCS Card.
- On-site training in Quality.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems is desired.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
