The Plant Manager will be responsible for the management of Plant in accordance with SCS Way, standards, policies and procedures. The role will include running the Plant Management meetings with our supply chain and within our SCS team, recording all plant equipment in the area and keeping the maintenance records up to date.

Role Responsibility

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the operations strategy to drive improvements across the area.
  • Work closely with all functional managers to achieve the business goals.
  • Assist the Buying Team, functional managers and Accounts in the management of Plant Hire operations.
  • Devise and measure KPIs to achieve efficiency and delivery improvements.
  • Be the leader of LEAN activity across all operational functions.
  • Monitor and evaluate all plant activity to create a proactive and efficient environment, including the hiring and off-hiring of plant and equipment on all sites and maintaining the plant book to reflect this.
  • Ensure quarantined plant and equipment is correctly segregated and replaced or fixed in a timely manner.
  • Represent the Delivery Team for any Plant Equipment required across the area.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders involved internally and externally.
  • Administration and maintenance of all documentation associated with Plant Management.
  • Attend weekly coordination meetings with the section within area Structures and Earthworks Delivery Unit - Euston.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a Plant Manager.
  • Excellent communicator and influencer with the ability to build effective relationships with staff and supply chain.
  • Previous experience working in a similar environment with Plant Hire companies.
  • Maintaining equipment managed by the project.
  • Experience of working on infrastructure projects.
