Supporting both the MEP Commercial package manager to provide commercial administration support. This role requires good communication and customer facing skills, along with working as part of a team promoting our JV culture and values. The successful candidate will consider problems as a challenge, collecting information relevant to the problem, be disciplined in ascertaining the root cause, identify and develop a practical solution, communicate the findings and implement action to resolve the problem.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Main Contract management and administration
  • Supply chain management (including supply chain contract administration)
  • Cost capture and control (including completion of the CLR)
  • Commercial Reporting
  • Change Control
  • Measurement
  • Project metrics reporting
  • Assisting with cash management
  • Liaison and negotiation with the Customer’s commercial and/or project team
  • Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting the commercial manager in ensuring the necessary internal and external periodic valuations and reports are prepared and issued in line with deadlines
  • Assisting the commercial manager with the implementation of the commercial procedures and reporting to ensure compliance with company and contract requirements
  • Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues

The Ideal Candidate:

  • RICS/CICES accredited Degree (or equivalent but not a must)
  • Full Membership of RICS or CICES (or equivalent but not a must)
  • Post-graduate commercial experience in the construction industry with demonstrable track record of achievement
  • Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen
  • Experience of drafting effective contractual correspondence & the facilitation of collaborative solutions
  • Good legal, contractual and construction knowledge and experience

About The Company:

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services. The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined value of the contracts is around £1.8 billion with the works due for completion in 2025. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
