The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 Β£ per year.

The Site Engineer will act as the primary engineering representative for mitigation works delivered within the Euston Delivery Unit (EDU). The role will support the full lifecycle of mitigation activities - from early planning and coordination through to delivery, assurance, and closeout - ensuring works are executed safely, compliantly, and in line with technical, environmental, and stakeholder requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of mitigation strategies, methodologies, and safe systems of work for EDU activities.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating RAMS, Work Package Plans (WPPs), Task Briefing Sheets (TBS), and permits.
  • Contribute to early-stage constructability reviews, identifying constraints, risks, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with design, temporary works, and asset protection teams to ensure readiness for site delivery.
  • Engage with stakeholders and internal disciplines to confirm scope, access requirements, and programme constraints.

Delivery & Oversight

  • Act as the site-based engineering lead during mitigation works, ensuring compliance with approved designs and methodologies.
  • Carry out setting out and provide technical guidance to supervisors and operatives.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
  • Ensure all permits, consents, and documentation are in place prior to commencing works.
  • Maintain accurate site records including site diaries, progress updates, and issue logs.

Technical Assurance & Quality

  • Implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure all inspections and check sheets are completed.
  • Verify that works are delivered in line with specifications and technical requirements.
  • Identify and raise NCRs, managing them through to closeout in collaboration with the wider team.
  • Compile and support completion of quality and technical assurance documentation for handover.
  • Manage non-conformances from identification to close-out, including engagement with Asset Protection Engineers and Third-Party Stakeholders.

Temporary Works

  • Support the preparation of Temporary Works Design Briefs and coordination of temporary works solutions.
  • Ensure temporary works installations are compliant, inspected, and safely managed on site.
  • Liaise with Temporary Works Coordinators/Supervisors to maintain full compliance with procedures.

Stakeholder Interface

  • Liaise closely with Section Foremen, subcontractors, and the Asset Protection team to ensure adherence to safe and agreed working methods.
  • Provide support to internal teams such as Community Relations, Highways, Environmental, and Logistics to ensure stakeholder concerns are addressed and work impacts are minimised.
  • Assist in preparing evidence, reports, and monitoring records for stakeholder reviews, assurance submissions, or statutory requirements.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Maintain the highest level of health, safety, and environmental performance, prioritising the protection of people, third-party assets, and sensitive environments (e.g., cemeteries, charitable premises).
  • Demonstrate commitment to the project's Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies and ensure they are clearly communicated to the workforce and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate proactively with HS2, SCS JV teams, and other contractors to maintain compliance and meet overarching project goals.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Civil Engineering or Infrastructure projects; experience in asset protection, stakeholder-facing works, or working adjacent to sensitive structures is desirable.
  • Understanding of reinforced concrete structures, utilities interfaces, and temporary works.
  • Relevant CSCS card.
