Overview
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to investigate business problems, define user and business needs and help our team shape the right solution to help UK government clients solve problems and deliver value for citizens and the public sector. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary agile team, translating policy intent and operational reality into clear, prioritised requirements. This is a hands-on analytical role operating within structured and governed environments where clarity, rigour and stakeholder confidence are critical to service success.
Key responsibilities
- Lead large or complex business analysis projects with a good understanding of strategic arenas
- Lead the framing of complex problems and policy-to-product translation
- Take functional or people management responsibilities, or a combination of both
- Mentor more junior BAs and develop best practice within the team
- Own the main stakeholder relationships for the service or product area
- Manage business analysis community-of-practice activities within a business area
Required skills & experience
- Strong experience eliciting and analysing user and business needs
- Confident with context, problem and option analysis
- Business modelling and process improvement experience
- Strong stakeholder relationship management - across policy, operations and product
- Comfortable communicating between technical and non-technical audiences
- Agile and Lean practices in production environments
- Experience delivering digital services within UK central government or the wider public sector
Desirable experience
- BCS Business Analysis certification (or equivalent)
- Experience translating policy intent into product requirements
- Process-mapping at scale (BPMN, journey mapping)
- Experience with regulated, security-conscious or high-assurance environments
Location and working pattern: Hybrid working, with on-site presence typically 3 days per week. Location: Swansea. Duration: Permanent.
