We are looking for an experienced Content Designer to support a project focused on improving and restructuring content for Applicants and Developers. The purpose of this project is to understand and document user and stakeholder needs, design and deliver revised content in an appropriate architecture, and define a long-term strategy for continuous improvement. Mandatory travel to Newcastle is required 2-3 times a month.
- Understand and benchmark the current content against standards and best practices.
- Define and document the approach to designing, testing, agreeing, and deploying revised content, including clear stakeholder roles and responsibilities.
- Capture stakeholder insights and combine them with user research to establish design principles.
- Redesign content based on best practice, accessibility, and user-centred design standards.
- Agree the revised content with stakeholders and test it with a range of users.
- Iterate content based on user research findings and other feedback.
- Clearly articulate user needs and how content standards will be implemented.
- Conduct detailed playback and seek agreement on new content with stakeholders.
- Develop and agree a content strategy and governance process for future changes.
Strong experience working as a Content Designer in multidisciplinary digital teams. Proven ability to create clear, concise, and accessible content that meets GDS and GOV standards. Experience with user research and usability testing, using insights to iterate content. Excellent communication skills to explain design decisions and gain buy-in. Familiarity with content management systems and version control tools. Experience working in Agile environments and contributing to sprint activities.
