The Role
We are looking for an experienced Content Designer to support Digital Channels programmes within the public sector. You will work across services including Report a Change Once (RACO), Customer Account, and the Government App & Wallet, helping design and improve content for citizens, applicants, and developers. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary Agile teams to understand user needs, redesign content structures, and deliver accessible, high-quality content aligned to GDS standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and benchmark existing content against GDS and accessibility standards
- Map user journeys and validate them with stakeholders
- Design clear, concise, and user-centred content
- Test and iterate content using user research and feedback
- Work closely with product, design, and development teams
- Support the development of content strategy, standards, and governance
- Deliver a structured handover to internal teams
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience as a Content Designer in digital, multidisciplinary teams
- Strong knowledge of GDS and GOV.UK content standards
- Experience using user research to inform content decisions
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile environments
Desirable
- Experience with CMS and version control tools
- Public sector or regulated environment experience
