About AI Company

AI is building the Xero for legal - an AI-powered platform that streamlines contract review, risk analysis, due-diligence and legal research for law firms. Backed by the team that delivered the MoJ's AI for Judges (with enterprise-grade security, privacy controls and guardrails), we’re on a mission to redefine how legal professionals work. We have secured 1m seed funding.

Role Overview

As CRO, you will own brand new AI company's growth engine: crafting go-to-market strategy, building pipeline, closing high-value enterprise deals and driving recurring revenue. You’ll report to the CEO and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing and Customer Success to hit aggressive ARR targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Strategy & Execution: Define and refine Spectr AI's sales playbook, ideal customer profile (ICP), pricing & packaging. Set quarterly & annual revenue targets; build and manage a sales funnel to achieve them.
  • Business Development & Partnerships: Identify and secure pilot and enterprise partnerships with law firms, in-house legal teams, and legal service providers. Negotiate commercial contracts, SLAs and pilot agreements.
  • Pipeline & Deal Management: Qualify leads, oversee proposal & RFP responses, and drive complex sales cycles to close. Implement CRM best practices (e.g. Salesforce) and rigorous forecasting discipline.
  • Team Leadership (future-hire roadmap): Mentor and scale a lean sales team as we grow; embed sales processes and KPIs. Work with Marketing to optimize lead gen, content strategy and event sponsorships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product & Engineering to influence roadmap based on market feedback. Align with Customer Success to ensure smooth onboarding, retention and expansion.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: 8+ years in SaaS enterprise sales or CRO/VP Sales roles, ideally in legal-tech, RegTech or adjacent AI/ML products. Proven track record closing £100k+ ARR deals with law firms or professional services firms.

Skills & Competencies: Expert at complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations and C-suite selling. Strong network within UK legal sector (solicitors, barristers' chambers, in-house legal). Data-driven: comfortable with CRM, pipeline analytics and forecasting. Excellent communicator, presenter and relationship-builder. Mindset: Founder-grade ownership, bias for action, and comfort in a fast-moving startup. Collaborative: thrives working across functions and influencing without formal authority. Integrity-first: customer-obsessed and committed to Spectr's guard-railed approach.

Compensation & Benefits:

Base Salary: £100,000 per annum (competitive for UK market)

On-Target Earnings (OTE): £350,000 (base + £250,000 target commission)

- Commission Structure:

  • 70% of commission pool on New ARR booked
  • 30% on Expansion/renewal ARR
  • Quarterly payouts with accelerators above 100% quota
  • 25% clawback on churned accounts within 12 months

Equity: None (focus on cash compensation)

Other Benefits: 25 days holiday + UK public holidays, Private health insurance, Pension auto-enrolment (3% employee contribution)
