Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks that ensure client software is delivered to the highest quality standards. Lead test automation strategy and contribute to SSDLC practices including SAST/DAST integration within CI/CD pipelines.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/div>
<\/span>• Define and implement automated test strategies aligned to client Testing Strategy and GDS delivery standards.<\/span>
<\/span>• Build and maintain automated test suites covering unit, integration, end -to -end, regression, and performance testing.<\/span>
<\/span>• Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines ensuring continuous quality gates.<\/span>
<\/span>• Implement and maintain SAST/DAST tooling within the SDLC pipeline in collaboration with DevOps engineers.<\/span>
<\/span>• Produce Test Strategy, Test Approach, and Test Summary Report artefacts per work package.<\/span>
<\/span>• Work with UKHO QA representatives to ensure test outputs meet authority standards.<\/span>
<\/span>• Ensure accessibility testing to WCAG AA standard is included within test suites.<\/span>
<\/span>• Manage and analyse defect lifecycles; report trends and improvement actions.<\/span>
<\/span>• Support manual exploratory testing where automated coverage is insufficient.<\/span>
<\/span>• Maintain and update test documentation as application changes occur.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE<\/span><\/b>
• Strong experience building automated test frameworks for web, API, and/or desktop applications.
• Proficiency with test automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, or equivalent).
• Experience integrating tests into Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of SAST/DAST tools and dependency vulnerability scanning.
• Ability to write and maintain test artefacts to a professional standard.
• Understanding of GDS service assessment quality criteria.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE<\/span><\/b>
• ISTQB certification or equivalent.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter, k6).
• Familiarity with WCAG AA accessibility testing tools.
• Knowledge of geospatial or maritime software testing.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>

This role requires eligibility for SC Security Clearance. Candidates without existing clearance will be supported through the vetting process upon appointment.
