Scrumconnect Consulting is a multi-award-winning UK public sector digital consultancy, positively influencing the lives of over forty million UK citizens.

We bring deep expertise in agile delivery, digital transformation, and platform engineering across central government.

With a team of over one hundred and twenty-five professionals — more than forty percent of whom are women — we are committed to building inclusive, diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sales Lead to drive new business sales across new and existing public sector accounts.

This is a hunter role for a self-starter who thrives on opening doors, building a pipeline from scratch, and closing contracts against a clear target.

You will bring a strong understanding of how the government procures technology and consulting services, and a track record of navigating multiple departments to win work.

You will work closely with our bid, capability, and delivery teams to shape propositions, respond to opportunities, and convert relationships into signed contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, prospect, and generate new sales opportunities across UK central government, local government, health, and other public sector bodies.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of new logo and new contract opportunities from first contact through to close.
  • Open conversations with departments Scrumconnect has not previously worked with, as well as identifying new opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Lead commercial discussions and contract negotiations to closure.
  • Apply strong working knowledge of UK government procurement frameworks (e. g.

G-Cloud, Digital Outcomes & Specialists, Crown Commercial Service frameworks, RM frameworks) to identify and pursue live opportunities.

  • Guide clients and internal teams through procurement routes, rules, and compliance requirements.
  • Track framework refreshes, tender notices, and upcoming procurement activity relevant to Scrumconnect's capabilities.
  • Own and deliver against agreed new business sales targets on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Provide accurate, regular pipeline forecasting and reporting to leadership.
  • Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene and CRM discipline.
  • Work with bid writers and capability leads to shape compelling, compliant tender responses and proposals.
  • Work with delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are deliverable and aligned to client needs.
  • Represent Scrumconnect at public sector events, procurement forums, and industry networking opportunities.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record of new business sales within UK public sector technology or consulting services.
  • Demonstrable experience selling across multiple government departments and sectors, not limited to a single client.
  • Strong, current understanding of UK government procurement frameworks, processes, and rules.
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • A genuine “go-getter” mentality — self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable creating opportunities from scratch.
  • Confident communicator able to engage senior public sector stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience with contract negotiation.
  • Highly organised, with strong pipeline and CRM management discipline.
  • Existing network of public sector contacts across multiple departments.
  • Experience selling agile digital delivery, data, or technology consulting services.
  • Security clearance (BPSS, SC, or DV) or willingness to obtain.
  • Our Interview Process

We keep things straightforward.

Following an initial CV review, successful candidates will be invited to a short screening call with our recruitment team, followed by a two-stage process comprising a commercial/case discussion and a values-based interview with the hiring team.

We aim to move quickly and will keep you informed at every stage.

Diversity and Inclusion

At Scrumconnect Consulting, we believe that diversity drives innovation.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every individual is respected, valued, and supported.

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences, and we actively encourage applications from women, people with disabilities, underrepresented communities, and those seeking flexible working arrangements.
