The lead product manager will provide strategic leadership across multiple complex Digital products, ensuring alignment with the Client’s transformation objectives to deliver user‑centred, secure and scalable digital services. Operating within a multidisciplinary agile environment, the role will own product vision, roadmap and value realisation across services spanning discovery, alpha, beta, live and retirement phases. The role requires deep expertise in product management within government digital services, including working across legacy systems (such as Oracle ERP) and modern cloud‑based architectures. The lead product manager will ensure products deliver measurable outcomes aligned to strategic priorities including improved user access, operational efficiency, reduced manual intervention and secure, adaptable technology platforms. Working within a Rainbow Team model, the role will collaborate closely with delivery managers, user researchers, designers and engineers, influencing senior stakeholders across digital, policy and operational domains to ensure delivery of high‑quality public services.

Responsibilities
- Define and lead product vision, strategy and roadmap aligned to Client priorities
- Own end‑to‑end product lifecycle from discovery through to live and retirement
- Champion user needs, embedding user‑centred design and research insights into decision making
- Lead prioritisation, ensuring maximum value delivery and alignment with strategic outcomes
- Influence senior stakeholders, challenging policy and shaping product direction
- Ensure products meet GDS standards, accessibility requirements and security controls
- Build and mentor product teams, contributing to a high‑performing product community
Preferred Tech Stack Expertise
- Strong understanding of backend technologies including Java, Python and Ruby with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Django and FastAPI
- Experience shaping products across legacy and modern estates, including Oracle ERP, Oracle DB and PL/SQL
- Working knowledge of cloud‑native architectures, particularly AWS, including APIs and microservices
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices using GitHub Actions, CircleCI and AWS CodePipeline
- Experience leveraging monitoring and observability tools such as Sentry, Kibana, Grafana and Prometheus
- Strong awareness of Secure by Design principles and Cyber Assessment Framework requirements
