About Scrumconnect
Scrumconnect is a leading digital transformation consultancy delivering user‑centred, innovative solutions across the UK public and private sectors. We specialise in helping organisations design, build, and scale digital services that make a real impact. Our teams work closely with clients to solve complex challenges using modern technologies, agile methodologies, and a strong focus on user needs.
As an independent technical assessor and solution architect, you will review digital products end‑to‑end — from codebase to architecture — and produce detailed, structured assessment reports that give stakeholders a clear, honest picture of where a product stands in 2026. This is not a delivery role. You will bring a sharp, critical technical eye — able to read code, understand product intent, identify architectural risks, and articulate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Your output will directly inform investment, remediation, and modernisation decisions.
Key Deliverables
- Assessment report: A detailed written report covering all four assessment dimensions with clear findings, evidence, and severity ratings.
- Architecture Overview: A clear articulation of the current technical architecture, stack, and integration points suitable for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Risk & debt register: A prioritised register of technical debt items and security risks with recommended remediation actions and indicative effort.
- Modernisation recommendations: Actionable recommendations for bringing the product up to 2026 standards, including quick wins and longer‑term structural changes.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven ability to read, navigate, and critically evaluate codebases across multiple languages and frameworks.
- Strong technical architecture background — able to reverse‑engineer and document system design from existing products.
- Deep understanding of modern architectural principles — microservices, API‑first design, cloud‑native patterns, 12‑factor applications.
- Security assessment experience — OWASP, authentication/authorisation patterns, dependency scanning, secrets management, threat modelling.
- Ability to identify, categorise, and communicate technical debt clearly — including code smells, outdated dependencies, and structural anti‑patterns.
- Experience producing high‑quality technical assessment or architecture review documents for senior stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex technical findings for non‑technical audiences.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern DevOps/CI/CD practices.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal direction — this role requires professional judgement and self‑direction.
- SC eligible at minimum — active SC clearance is a strong advantage.
Technical Familiarity Expected
- Python / Django / FastAPI
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- REST API design
- Cloud (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Docker / Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipelines
- OWASP / security standards
- Database design (SQL & NoSQL)
- Microservices architecture
- Code quality tooling
- Terraform / IaC
- Git / version control
Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
We are committed to building inclusive teams and actively welcome applications from women, people from ethnic minority backgrounds, disabled people, those returning after a career break, and anyone underrepresented in senior technical and architecture roles. If you do not meet every requirement but feel this role is the right fit for your experience, we encourage you to apply. Strong assessment instinct and clear communication are as important as any individual technology skill.

How to prepare for a job interview at Scrumconnect Consulting
✨Know Your Tech Inside Out
Make sure you brush up on your technical skills, especially around the languages and frameworks mentioned in the job description. The more confident you are in your technical knowledge, the better you'll be able to articulate your thoughts during the interview.
✨Prepare for Scenario-Based Questions
