Due to further growth across our Fire Protection Division, Scrubs Group is looking for a Passive Fire Protection Surveyor / Supervisor. Scrubs Group is a principal contractor and building company with over 15 years of experience delivering high-quality construction projects across the commercial, industrial, residential, and public sectors. The business is known for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to consistently high standards. Our services include project management, design and build, construction, refurbishment, fit-out, and passive fire protection. We place strong emphasis on collaboration, transparency, and clear communication with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
This is a full-time, on-site Passive Fire Protection Surveyor / Supervisor role based in London. The role will involve carrying out detailed passive fire protection surveys, including the inspection of fire doors, compartmentation, fire-stopping, and associated building elements. The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting findings in clear, accurate reports and supporting the delivery of compliant passive fire protection works on site. The post-holder will supervise on-site passive fire protection works, coordinate with site teams and subcontractors, and ensure installations are completed in line with current regulations, relevant standards, manufacturer guidance, and project specifications.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing drawings and fire strategy information
- Planning survey and installation schedules
- Monitoring quality and progress
- Ensuring health and safety compliance throughout the works
- Liaison with clients and internal project managers
- Escalation of risks or defects
- Contribution to the continuous improvement of Scrubs Group’s passive fire protection processes, reporting standards, and documentation
Qualifications / Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of passive fire protection systems, including fire-stopping, fire doors, compartmentation, fire-rated walls, floors, and ceilings
- Experience conducting site surveys, condition assessments, and compliance inspections within construction or building services environments
- Proven ability to supervise site activities, coordinate trades, and monitor quality of passive fire protection installation works
- Good understanding of relevant fire safety regulations, British Standards, and building regulations relating to passive fire protection
- Confident in reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, fire strategy documents, and schedules
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear report writing and stakeholder communication on site
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a methodical approach to recording findings and verifying remedial works
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practice in live construction environments
- Ability to work independently on multiple sites, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines
- Previous experience in construction, fire protection, building surveying, or a related discipline; experience with principal contractor environments is advantageous
- Previous experience in BM Trada scheme requirements
- Relevant fire safety or passive fire protection training or certification (e.g., FIRAS, IFC, or similar) is highly desirable
- NVQ Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Passive Fire Protection Inspection or Level 3 Passive Fire Protection qualification aligned to inspection/surveying
