We are looking for a hands-on Robotics Engineer to help build, test, and integrate real robotic systems. This is a practical role focused on hardware, prototyping, and testing, working closely with a small engineering team to take systems from early builds through to field-ready prototypes. The role is suitable for junior to mid-level engineers who want to gain deep hands-on experience in a startup environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assembling, testing, and debugging robotic systems and prototypes
- Wiring, electronics integration, and bench testing of subsystems
- Supporting sensing, firmware, and control experiments
- Working across mechanical, electrical, and embedded subsystems
- Preparing robots for tank testing and on-water trials
- Supporting test operations during development and deployments
What We’re Looking For
- Background in robotics, mechatronics, embedded systems, or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience with electronics, wiring, and rapid prototyping
- Comfortable working with physical hardware and evolving designs
- Able to collaborate across disciplines in a small team environment
- Practical, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving problems
Nice to Have
- Experience with ROS
- Exposure to embedded firmware
- CAD or mechanical integration experience
- Experience working with deployed or field-tested hardware
Contract and Progression
Initial paid contract (typically around 3 months). Potential to move into a full-time role based on performance and mutual fit.
