About The Role

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will be taking ownership in producing the monthly management accounts for a number of entities within the group.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of timely management accounts for the assigned group entities
  • Lead period close processes ensuring that all reconciliations, adjustments and control activities are completed
  • Ensure that all accruals, prepayments, depreciation are recorded in a timely manner within each period close
  • Review actuals against the budget and provide variance analysis with supporting commentary
  • Generate periodic financial reports by analysing large volumes of data and provide key insights
  • Support and complete the periodic reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
  • Oversee the quarterly stocktake process by tracking inventory levels, costs analysis and posting of accurate inventory journals
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and KPI reporting to track periodic operational and financial performance
  • Communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders
  • Regularly review and update the management accounting procedures and workflow by incorporating the latest changes
  • Support the management accounting team in maintaining strong financial controls and governance across all departmental deliverables
  • Take lead in quarter end and year end deliverables to ensure seamless and timely quarter and year end period closings
  • Partner with internal departments in budgeting, forecasting, performance tracking and delivering financial insights that shape key business decisions
  • Manage and maintain the chart of accounts within the accounting software
  • Develop, review, and enhance financial processes, systems, and controls ensuring a strong governance framework which mitigates risk and drives continuous improvements and efficiencies
  • Support the budgeting process for the group companies to ensure accurate budgets are produced in a timely manner
  • Work with the Auditors during the audit and support the year-end reporting and statutory accounts process
  • Assist in project work including use of AI and new finance system implementation

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge with the experience to analyse and interpret complex financial data, able to lead continuous process improvement and thrives in a fast-paced environment where prioritising tasks to meet deadlines is crucial.

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with at least 3 years post qualification experience
  • Proven experience of taking a lead in achieving automations and improving processes
  • Experience in analysing and interpreting large volumes of complex data
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Self-starter with an aptitude to take on new challenges
  • Previous experience of managing a team would be advantageous
  • Advanced excel skills are a key requirement for this role
