Overview
Fixed Term Contract / Secondment – Until 01/07/2026. It’s a great time to join Screwfix. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of all products entering the business within specific allocated categories. You will conduct thorough audits of suppliers, manage product approvals, and collaborate with internal teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Quality and Compliance: Ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of all products entering the business, verifying that products meet UK and European Safety standards and align with Screwfix\’s Quality Manual and Kingfisher policies.
- Supplier Audits: Conduct initial and recurring audits of suppliers against the Screwfix Supplier Audit document, utilizing ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training to implement best practices and ensuring continuous improvement.
- Non‑Conformance and Corrective Action Planning: Identify non‑conformances during audits and product approval, develop and monitor corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Product Approvals: Manage product approvals for new and existing products, collaborating with Kingfisher Group and internal Commercial teams to assist in new product development and regulation compliance, and overseeing product development and compliance for Banner Access to Sourcing (BATS) projects.
- Regulatory Compliance: Work cross‑functionally to manage the implementation of amendments to regulations and product standards, staying updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME): Act as the SME for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance of products.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of audits, non‑conformances, corrective actions, and product compliance; prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with product regulation and compliance for both UK and EU markets, ideally in a large retail or consumer goods business.
- Auditing experience to an internationally recognised standard; ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training highly desirable.
- Technical background with a good level of product knowledge.
- Ability to prioritise and maintain workload to specific deadlines.
- Team player, energetic, with good interpersonal skills, drive, and self‑motivation.
- Clear and accurate communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable with an eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
