There has never been a more exciting time to join Screwfix. With bold growth ambitions and a clear focus on accelerating the business, we’re investing in the initiatives that will define our next phase of growth. From expanding our B2B offering, to evolving our digital experience, to transforming logistics and assortment, we’re driving business‑led transformation at pace, with technology acting as a key enabler. The challenge now is not just delivery, but ensuring the right initiatives are shaped, prioritised and sequenced to maximise impact across the business. This role plays a critical role in shaping how that ambition is delivered.
We’re looking for a Transformation Programme Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of high‑impact growth initiatives, operating upstream of delivery to shape direction, challenge readiness, and support critical decisions around investment, prioritisation and trade‑offs. You’ll ensure initiatives are set up for success and delivered with clarity, pace and real commercial impact.

- Company car or allowance of up to ÂŁ6,500 per annum
- 33 days' holiday (including bank holidays, 5 of which can be taken flexibly)
- Hybrid working with up to 2 days working from home
- Private Medical Care (Individual – Family care)
- Up to 14% employer pension contributions
- Life cover up to 4x your salary
- Partner with senior business leaders to shape and define growth initiatives, clarifying the strategic problem, intended outcomes, success measures and value case.
- Translate strategic 2030 priorities into coherent programmes of work, balancing ambition, sequencing, dependencies and capacity.
- Support the development of investment cases, options and recommendations for Executive and Board level decision making.
- Challenge scope, readiness and delivery approach to ensure initiatives are set up for success before mobilisation.
- Own the successful delivery of projects and initiatives, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, to budget and to agreed business objectives.
- Identify where additional support may be required.
- Lead a matrix‑based delivery model, working with functional and capability leads across business and technology.
- Maintain a clear view of dependencies, risks and issues across programmes, acting as an escalation point where delivery confidence is threatened.
- Ensure delivery plans remain aligned as priorities evolve, adjusting sequencing and approach where required.
- Maintain a cross‑programme view of capacity, constraints and functional dependencies, working closely with Portfolio and Finance teams.
- Surface delivery bottlenecks, capability gaps and over‑commitment early, and recommend pragmatic corrective actions.
- Support prioritisation discussions by making trade‑offs explicit (what to accelerate, defer, descope or stop).
- Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across Commercial, Digital, Operations, Supply Chain and Technology.
- Prepare and present clear, outcome‑focused updates to Screwfix Executive and Board forums.
- Support development of Group CEO updates.

- Build sustainable internal capability, reducing reliance on external support over time.
- Manage third‑party partners effectively, ensuring value for money and alignment to Screwfix outcomes.
- Proven experience leading complex, business‑critical growth or transformation programmes, not just technology delivery.
- Strong commercial and strategic judgement, with the ability to shape ambiguous problems and turn them into executable programmes.
- Experience within a retail environment is essential, with strong online digital and e‑commerce experience.
- Exposure to B2B, logistics, supply chain and fulfilment environments, and how these enable scalable growth.
- Understanding of assortment, ranging and category‑led change, and the commercial implications of range expansion or partner‑led models.

- Experience managing delivery in matrixed organisations with shared resources and competing priorities.

- Wagestream access to track earnings and save.
- Access to the Kingfisher Share Scheme.
