Role Overview
If you enjoy turning ideas into real, tangible outcomes, this is one for you. As a Product Owner at Screwfix, you’ll own a critical part of our eCommerce journey, the checkout experience across web and app, with a strong focus on the underlying basket and promotions ecosystem that powers it. You won’t just manage a backlog, you’ll define the vision, set the direction and work closely with cross‑functional teams to bring it to life. This is a role where pace matters. You’ll be balancing business priorities, technical complexity and customer value, making smart decisions that keep things moving while delivering meaningful impact. We’re looking for someone who can operate comfortably across both back end and front end, with a stronger leaning towards the technical and data side of the product.
Responsibilities
- Own the checkout and basket product backlog and deliver features that enhance user experience.
- Define product vision and roadmap, translating business priorities into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, data science and stakeholders to shape feature specifications.
- Make data‑driven decisions, balancing speed, complexity and customer impact.
- Validate solutions through user testing, monitoring and iteration.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and act as the single point of accountability for the product.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Product Owner or a similar role in a software or eCommerce environment.
- Comfortable working on both front‑end and back‑end product aspects.
- Strong technical and data orientation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
